The talent of this young French Canadian tenor was quickly noticed when he auditioned in 1995 for the Hélène Morasse Company of Rouyn-Noranda. He then took part in Jacques Offenbach's « Les Contes d'Hoffmann », then was Gaspard in Giancarlo Menotti's « Amahl et les visiteurs de la nuit ». He also sang Simon the Zealot and a high priest in the rock opera « Jésus-Christ Superstar ».
In 1998, the Hélène Morasse Company gave him the part of Frédéric in Gilbert and Sullivan's « Les Pirates de Penzance ». He studied at the « Centre musical en Sol Mineur » of Rouyn-Noranda with Éliane Bouchard then pursiued his training with Hélène Morasse and at Québec Musical Conservatoire in Montréal where he was awarded first prize with high honor .
In 2002 Luc Robert was hired for the Canadian Opera Company ensemble studio in Toronto. He has learnt majors roles like : Peter Quint in The turn of the screw, Steva Burya in Jenufa, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca.
During these last seasons he also understudied The Duke in Rigoletto of Verdi and he performed Pang in Turandot, Borsa in Rigoletto with COC; healso sang Arturo and cover Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor of Donizetti, covered the title role of Albert Herring of Britten and Rodolfo in La Bohème of Puccini. Luc Robert also made his debut at Opéra de Québec in Québec city with Nemorino in L'Elisir d'Amore . In the past seasons Luc Robert sang the Duke of Rigoletto with Pacific Opera Victoria and in London-Ontario, took part in a tour with Jeunesses Musicales, sang a concert with Quebec Symphony Orchestra and made his debuts in France with Opera de Rennes in a Liszt oratorio. He also sang Malcolm/Macbeth in Vancouver Opera.and Gastone with Canadian Opera Company.
