Project Description

Antoine Bélanger is one of Canada’s most prominent young tenors. He has sung an impressive number of roles in Europe, the United States as well as in Canada with Opéra de Montréal, Opéra de Québec, Opera Lyra Ottawa, Calgary Opera, Vancouver Opera and Saskatoon Opera.  His diversified repertoire includes Faust, Don José (Carmen), Werther, Alfredo (La Traviata), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) and Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi). Recent performances include Le Chevalier de La Force with Opéra de Montréal and Don José (Carmen) with Opéra de Rennes.  Upcoming are concert performances in Montréal a return engagement in Tourcoing, France and the role of Don José (Carmen) TBA. Antoine appears as a guest soloist in concert and oratorio performances with ensembles and orchestras which include Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal, Orchestre Symphonique de Trois Rivières, McGill Chamber Orchestra and Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil.  His repertoire includes : Verdi’s Requiem, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Puccini’s Messa de Gloria, Dubois Sept Paroles du Christ, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Requiem and la Grande Messe by Gilles Vigneault.
